The Loft at Cinema La Placita kicks off its 9th season in May with a new name, its very first double-feature, and a tribute to Charlton Heston.

Cinema La Placita is now called “The Loft at Cinema La Placita.”  As always, films begin at 7:30 PM every Thursday evening, May through October, and are located in the outdoor plaza of La Placita Village in downtown Tucson. 

The schedule for May 2008 is as follows:

May 1 (7:30 PM) Duck Soup (1933) Starring The Marx Brothers; (9 PM) Wild Hogs

      (2007) Starring John Travolta, William H. Macy and Tim Allen.

May 8  Bringing Up Baby (1938) Starring Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn.

May 15 The Omega Man (1971) Starring Charlton Heston.

May 22 The Odd Couple (1968) Starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.

May 29 Elmer Gantry ((1960) Starring Burt Lancaster and Jean Simmons. 

All films begin at 7:30 PM each Thursday evening, May through October. Admission for the films is free, although a $3 - $5 per person donation is greatly appreciated. All donations contribute directly to the programming of the series.

La Placita Village is located at the southwest corner of Broadway and Church Avenue in downtown Tucson.
