Girls Incorporated® of Southern Arizona, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold, celebrates National Women’s Health Week with the launch of “Girls Inc. Families Fit Together SM”; an award winning national fitness and nutrition program aimed at girls 9-14 and their families.  

National Women’s Health Week is a nationwide initiative that calls attention to the importance of women’s health.  During the week, families, health organizations, businesses, communities, the government and individuals come together to raise awareness about women’s health issues and educate women about simple steps they can take for a longer, healthier and happier life.  

The kick-off takes place, the day before Mother’s day, at the Marana Healthy Mom’s Award Ceremony and Chamber of Commerce Health Fair, where women in the community will be honored for being healthy role models. Saturday, May 10, 9 AM to 12 Noon, Ora Mae Harn Park, Marana. 

The Arizona Award of Excellence winning, Marana Parks and Recreation Department will host the “Families Fit Together,” curriculum in two five-week sessions at Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary School. The first session runs May 27 through June 28 and the second session, July 8 through August 9, both sessions are on Tuesday evenings, 6:30-7:30 PM and Saturday mornings from 7:30-9 AM.
