Cinema La Placita continues its 8th season in September with the original "3:10 to Yuma" on the eve of the remake's release; a continuation of the "Shot in Tucson" series, and the last installment of our “Look, it turns out Audrey Hepburn is beautiful!” mini-series.
The schedule for September is as follows:
September 6, 3:10 to Yuma (1957), starring Glenn Ford **("Shot In Tucson")September 13, My Fair Lady (1964), starring Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison (NR)
September 20, Paint Your Wagon (1969), starring Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin (PG-13),
September 27 El Dorado (1966), starring John Wayne and Robert Mitchum (NR) **("Shot In Tucson") The “Shot in Tucson” series features movies which were filmed in part or in whole in the Tucson area. Tucsonans who appeared in or were extras in or worked on these films, or simply stood by to watch all the action during production, are especially invited to see their films on the big screen, in some cases for the first time in decades.
All films begin at 7:30 PM each Thursday evening, May through October. Admission for the films is free, although a $3 per person donation is greatly appreciated. All donations contribute directly to the programming of the series.
La Placita Village is located at the southwest corner of Broadway and Church Avenue in downtown Tucson. Ample parking is available in the La Placita Parking Garage located on Stone Avenue just south of Broadway. Chairs are provided, but guests are welcome to bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Restaurants of La Placita Village are available for dining. Alcohol is not permitted in the plaza.
Cinema La Placita is a program of The Loft Cinema.
