Salsa Challenge

03:17 PM MST on Tuesday, September 11, 2007

The “My Nana’s Salsa Challenge” is a fundraiser for the Arizona Hemophilia Association.  The event features restaurants, businesses and individuals competing to make the best salsa in their category.  Over 30 competitors prepare fresh salsa on-site in either the mild or hot category.  The grand champion will win a grand prize trip.  Attendees can vote for their favorite with the People’s Choice Award. The event also features the Main Stage with live, local acts throughout the day.

A separate competition within the event is the Cazadores Margarita Mix-Off, 12:30-3:30 PM.  Local bartenders show off their talents to win the judge’s vote for best Margarita.  All of the margaritas will then be auctioned off to the highest bidder in an effort to raise even more funds for the Arizona Hemophilia Association.

Kids can also enjoy a day of fun at the event’s FUNZONE, featuring interactive games for the entire family including a moon bounce, bungee run and obstacle course.  The FUNZONE is entirely free all day long.

All proceeds go directly to the Arizona Hemophilia Association, a non-profit organization that serves the individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders.  The organization serves this community with a variety of services, programming, counseling and children’s activities such as Camp Honor, held each summer in northern Arizona.

Saturday, November 10, 11 AM-6 PM, Reid Park Outdoor Performance Center, 900 S. Randolph Way,  For more Information visit www.salsachallenge.com or call (480) 955-3947.
