PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say a former teacher at Phoenix's Shadow Mountain High School was sentenced Friday to four years in prison plus lifetime probation for having sex with a 17-year-old female student.
Prosecutors say 47-year-old Thomas Krepelka was arrested in March on felony charges of molestation of a child and sexual contact with a minor.
Krepelka was a science teacher and baseball coach at Shadow Mountain High.
Authorities say a student made accusations about Krepelka to school administrators and they in turn called in Phoenix police.
In August, Krepelka pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual contact with a minor.
