THE WHO: PLAYING THE SUPER BOWL

NEW YORK (AP) — The Who will go where Bruce Springsteen, Prince, the Steelers and Cowboys have gone before: the Super Bowl. The NFL has announced that the veteran rock band will play the halftime show February 7 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami. Recent acts at the Super Bowl have included Springsteen and the E Street Band, Tom Petty, Prince and the Rolling Stones. And unlike the case with Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction," if they remove their shirt, it shouldn't cause a problem.

KRIS ALLEN LOOKS FORWARD TO FOOTBALL

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kris Allen's day-after-Thanksgiving tradition has nothing to do with shopping. It's all about football. He says he usually goes to the Arkansas-Louisiana State game, which traditionally is played on this day. Allen says it's a little "weird" this year, because the game is tomorrow. He'll have to work off his mom's stuffing instead. He says his mom makes the best dressing and he doesn't know her secret, he just eats.

GRATEFUL DEAD-OPOLY

NEW YORK (AP) — Now you can stay at a cheap motel on "American Beauty" or "Workingman's Dead." Former Grateful Dead employee Debbie Gold has created Grateful Dead-opoly, based on Monopoly. Instead of properties, you buy Dead albums. You don't go to jail -- you're off the bus. The tokens include an amp, a tour bus, a drum and singer Bob Weir's dog Otis. The "Chance" cards are replaced by "Grateful Deed" cards. Gold says one tells you, "Jerry and Bob's limo breaks down," which really happened to them in Chicago in the '70s. Gold says she played the game with a group that included Weir, who said he'd be bad because he hadn't played in 30 years. He mopped the floor with them. Grateful Dead-opoly is available now.

CARLTON, GUSTER, NAKED BROTHERS PLAN TO ATTEND BEATLES UKELELE FESTIVAL

NEW YORK (AP) — Vanessa Carlton, Ryan Miller of Guster and The Naked Brothers Band plan to take part in a Beatles ukulele festival. The Beatles Complete On Ukulele Festival will be December 6 in New York. The entire Beatles catalog will be covered that day on ukulele. Anyone who shows up early with a ukulele will get free admission and a place in the uke ensemble that will open the show with two as-yet-unrevealed Beatles songs. Sixteen Yoko Ono impersonators will be on hand because the organizers decided as a joke to donate proceeds to Ono. Last year's festival benefited Warren Buffett.

SPRINGSTEEN, DYLAN, VEDDER APPEAR ON SOUNDTRACK TO "THE PEOPLE SPEAK"

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The soundtrack to a History Channel documentary includes a who's who of musician activists. Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Eddie Vedder, Randy Newman and Jackson Browne are among the artists who contribute songs to the soundtrack for "The People Speak." Pink, John Legend, Exene Cervenka and John Doe of X, and Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes also appear on the album. The documentary is about democracy and ordinary Americans. TOM WAITS APPEARS IN UPCOMING MOVIES, RELEASES LIVE ALBUM

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tom Waits is padding his acting resume'. He will appear in the upcoming Terry Gilliam film "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus." That comes out Christmas Day. He'll also have a role in the film "Book of Eli," starring Denzel Washington. Waits is keeping up his music career, too. This week he released "Glitter and Doom Live." One disc is a collection of live tracks from his 2008 tour. The other disc is what is described as "Waits' quixotic ruminations on topics ranging from romantic spiders to injured vultures."
