NATALIE PORTMAN CAN'T BELIEVE THE SECRECY SURROUNDING "THOR"
NEW YORK (AP) -- Natalie Portman can't believe the secrecy surrounding the movie version of "Thor." Portman says if she gets a phone call about the project, it doesn't come up as a normal number on her cell. She has to punch in a five-digit code. She says she's had calls from the government that aren't that secure. She says "Marvel is in some crazy underground world." Her script has watermarks all over it identfying her as the only one who can read it, except that she can't read a lot of the lines because the watermarks are blocking the words. Portman is currently co-starring in "Brothers."

KENNEDY CENTER HONORS
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Martin Short sang the theme to "Blazing Saddles" while sitting on a plastic palomino as part of a tribute to Mel Brooks at the Kennedy Center in Washington. He was followed by Jack Black singing a song from "Men in Tights" and Harry Connick Junior singing the theme from "High Anxiety." And what Mel Brooks tribute would be complete without singing and dancing Nazis? Matthew Morrison from "Glee" led that part of the tribute from "The Producers." Earlier, at the White House, President Obama told Brooks he saw "Blazing Saddles" when he was 10 by using a fake ID. Brooks was honored along with Bruce Springsteen and Robert De Niro.
