''CRAZY HEART" - JEFF BRIDGES
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- One day after Jeff Bridges earned a Golden Globe nomination for "Crazy Heart," the movie opens in selected cities today. He plays a boozy country singer. Bridges has been singing and playing guitar since he was a teenager. He's released a few CDs. Bridges says he got help in playing the country singer from Stephen Bruton (BROO'-tuhn), who co-wrote many of the songs in the movie with T-Bone Burnett. Bruton died last May after a battle with cancer. He was 60.

GOLDEN GLOBE REACTIONS
UNDATED (AP_) -- Neil Patrick Harris has his Golden Globe nomination for "How I Met Your Mother." Now he wants a new car. He points out that other shows have been rewarded with big prizes from time to time. Meanwhile the executive producer of "House" forgot to watch the Globe nominations because he had "a couple of drinks" the night before. He couldn't understand why his phone was ringing off the hook when he was in the shower. Nominees now have to figure out what to wear to the Globes. Glenn Close wishes she could go "in a lovely pair of black pajamas."
STEPHEN COLBERT ON THE FRONT COVER OF SPORTS ILLUSTRATED
NEW YORK (AP) -- Stephen Colbert's sponsorship of the U.S. speedskating team is paying off. He's on the cover of Sports Illustrated wearing an Olympic speedskating uniform. The issue is devoted to sports media. Colbert has helped raise more than $250,000 for the team since its largest cash sponsor declared bankruptcy.
ARREST WARRANTS OUT FOR RANDY AND EVI QUAID
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) -- Randy Quaid and his wife Evi are wanted by the law. Arrests warrants have been issued after the Quaids didn't show up for a court hearing. It'll cost them $40,000 because they'll have to forfeit their bail. The Quaids are accused of skipping out on a $10,000 bill for an inn. Their attorney has said they paid the bill.
LINDSAY LOHAN'S FATHER ARRESTED
SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) -- Lindsay Lohan's father has been arrested. Michael Lohan is accused of violating a protection order by calling his estranged girlfriend. Last June, Lohan was told he could avoid being prosecuted for allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend and himself if he stayed out of trouble for a year. Lohan has denied the charge and his attorney says the ex-girlfriend is lying.
HOUSE VOTES TO TURN DOWN LOUD COMMERCIALS
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Finally, something Democrats and Republicans can agree on. TV commercials are too loud. The House has voted to get broadcasters to turn down the volume on loud commercials. An identical measure has been introduced in the Senate. It's not clear exactly what Congress can do to force broadcasters to lower the volume. Some say it may require new equipment.

NEW YORK (AP) -- None of the dramas or comedies on TV could match the battle between the Eagles and the Giants. "Sunday Night Football" was the top-rated show of the week. The pre-show ranked sixth. CBS shows dominated the rest of the top ten, with "CSI" coming in second, followed by "The Mentalist," ''60 Minutes" and "NCIS." ''Two and a Half Men" ranked seventh, followed by "Criminal Minds" and "The Big Bang Theory." The only NBC series in the top ten is "The Biggest Loser," which is in tenth place.
REGIS PHILBIN-LETTERMAN
NEW YORK (AP) — Regins Philbin tells David Letterman his leg hurts "like heck." Philbin had hip replacement surgery two weeks ago. He did Letterman's Top-10 list last night over the phone. Philbin says he's walking with a cane and he has a bad limp. Letterman wanted to know if Philbin had any extras of the pain pills his doctor perscribed. As for the "Top-10 ways Regis is recovering following hip surgery," NO. 1 is he's "bored out his mind" and that's why he's talking to Letterman.

REGIS AND JOY PHILBIN ARE OUT WITH CD OF DUETS
NEW YORK (AP) -- After 39 years of marriage, Regis and Joy Philbin are still making beautiful music together. They're out with a CD of duets called "Just You. Just Me." It's a series of love songs that represent the various stages of a couple's relationship. Philbin says his wife "steals the whole show" from him. They recorded the CD before Philbin had hip surgery. He's due to return to his talk show early next month.
