GROUND ZERO RESTAURANT

NEW YORK (AP) — When you're building an office tower that's 105 stories tall, you can't easily step out for lunch.

So, for the workers constructing the new Freedom Tower at the site of the World Trade Center, lunch is being brought in.

Not just lunch -- but an entire Subway sandwich shop.

It's following them up the building, floor by floor, attached to a construction crane.

The restaurant is located in a bright yellow trailer with an American flag. The crane will move it higher as each of the 105 floors is completed.

So far, they've finished five.

FIFTH-GRADER'S GIVEAWAY

SELMA, Ind. (AP) — It's easy to be generous with someone else's money.

In the case of an Indiana fifth-grader, the money belonged to his grandparents. He found it in their safe.

And that was good news for the other kids on the schoolbus. On the last day of school before Christmas vacation, the boy was handing out cash -- ones, fives and twenties.

Some of the kids told the teachers and the principal -- who called the sheriff.

And the grandparents got the rest of their cash back. They may want to change the combination on their safe.

SECRET SANTA

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — One woman said she didn't think Santa existed anymore.

Whoever it was, he was spreading a lot of goodwill and then some at a Goodwill store in Portland, Maine.

The man in a Santa suit was handing out envelopes containing $100 each to 100 unsuspecting shoppers.

One man had gone there to shop for a pair of pants. He plans to use the money to take his son out to dinner.

REINDEER DUNG ORNAMENTS

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) — This is one Christmas item that really was delivered by a reindeer.

Made by one, in fact.

A zoo in Illinois has made thousands of dollars by selling necklaces and Christmas ornaments made from pieces of reindeer droppings, about the size of a dime.

Last year, the Miller Park Zoological Society made about $5,000 selling reindeer-dropping ornaments. It added necklaces this year when customers asked if jewelry was available.

The droppings are dehydrated, sterilized, and spray-painted with glitter.

OTTERS-FLIGHT DELAY

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — There otter be a law against this.

Two escaped otters delayed a Continental Airlines flight when they darted out of the plane's cargo hold and onto the tarmac in Houston.

The escape delayed the Ohio-bound flight for about an hour.

Airport workers eventually managed to catch the otters and put them back on board, safely in their cages.
