TONIGHT'S TV

The housewives are back.

As "Desperate Housewives" returns with the new year to ABC, it's the aftermath of the plane crash into Wisteria Lane. That brush with death has them thinking about the choices they've made through the years. When "Brothers and Sisters" returns, the search is on for a bone marrow match for Kitty. Tonight's episode is kind of a family affair. It was directed by Chad Lowe. His brother, Rob Lowe, is a series regular. Earlier, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" helps a family in St. Paul, Minnesota.

NFL football is on NBC. The New York Jets host the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fox's animated shows are all new tonight. On "The Simpsons," Homer is jealous when a reporter wants Grampa's life story. Cleveland on "The Cleveland Show" wants his son to be a jock instead of a studious-type. Peter on "Family Guy" gets amnesia. "American Dad" is next.

The Food Network's "Iron Chef" is at The White House. First Lady Michelle Obama challenges the chefs to make a meal that features ingredients from The White House garden.

CBS is airing repeats: "NCIS" and two episodes of "Cold Case."

The Disney Channel is doing "Hannah Montana" reruns and is showing "Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour."

Comedy Central is showing "Borat" with Sacha Baron Cohen.
