TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Money is tight in Tucson and city lawmakers are making the necessary cuts in services.
In voting to cut millions from the budget, lawmakers approved a motion to close down the public access television station.
Access Tucson's budget was completely gutted and council members voted to sell its building in a move which could save Tucson more than $1 million dollars.
The Council is also creating a team designated to monitor and collect sales taxes, which could add up to $1.5 million dollars.
Lawmakers also approved cuts in over time pay and administration costs.
