BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) — Bullhead City parks and recreation officials are ready to light the Veterans Memorial Park eternal flame full-time.
City Community Services Director Karla Brady revealed her department is teaming up with the Public Works Department in trying to redesign a device that uses less natural gas. They're also working on further protecting the flame from high winds.
The city doused the eternal flame after monthly gas bills reached $1,000, only lighting it during special events.
Brady said they will leave the flame on for a month to monitor the situation.
