PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix police are looking for those responsible for pushing a teenager into oncoming traffic Tuesday night in southwest Phoenix.

Two cars hit the teen near 35th and Southern avenues. One car fled while the driver of a second car returned to the scene to render aid.

Phoenix police Lt. Dave Laslavic said the 15-year-old boy died at the scene.

Investigators said witnesses reported the teen was being chased by two to four males and once the group caught up to him, they pushed him into oncoming traffic on 35th Avenue.

Laslavic said if detectives are able to determine those involved intentionally pushed the boy into oncoming traffic, homicide charges are possible.

Officials said no arrests have been made.
