2 hurt in AZ medical chopper crash recovering

SAN CARLOS, Ariz. (AP) — Two pilots injured when a helicopter belonging to an air ambulance company crashed on Arizona's San Carlos Indian reservation remained hospitalized with minor injuries Thursday. There was no patient on the training flight.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the pilot of the Eurocopter AS 350 lost control while trying to land at the reservation's Cutter airport around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The helicopter belonged to EMS transportation provider Native Air, a subsidiary of Texas-based Omniflight Helicopters. It had taken off from Williams Gateway Airport in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa.
