PHOENIX (AP) — A Maricopa County employee has been arrested for allegedly stealing gasoline from the county fill station for his personal vehicle for the last two years.

Authorities say 51-year-old Matthew Walter Forest is a job order manager with the Maricopa County Facilities Management Operations and Maintenance Division

County Sheriff's deputies believe Forest stole more than 700 gallons of gas from the fill station since November 2007.

Authorities estimate the gasoline was valued at more than $1,700.

The case against Forest was initiated when a sheriff's deputy noticed Forest pumping fuel into what appeared to be a personal vehicle.
