PHOENIX (AP) — A Yuma Customs and Border Protection officer and his wife are heading to prison after pleading guilty to dealing the drug "ecstasy."

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Phoenix said 41-year-old Henry M. Gauani and his wife, 46-year-old Flora A. Gauani, were both sentenced to 37 months in prison, fined $8,000 and ordered to perform community service.

Prosecutors said Gauani and his wife arranged for vehicles loaded with ecstasy to pass through his inspection lane at the Port of Entry without proper inspection.

The Gauanis were paid a total sum of $33,000 in cash.
