PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) — A Rimrock man has been arrested after Yavapai County Sheriff's investigators say he cut off his girlfriend's finger to earn his trust.

Deputies responded to a residence Dec. 12 and arrested 48-year-old Ronald Gene Olivier.

The 43-year-old victim told authorities Olivier threatened her with death if she didn't allow him to cut off a finger.

Investigators said Olivier placed the victim's hand on a table and sliced off a portion of her left pinky finger with a sword.

When Olivier refused to let her recover the severed finger, she ran to a neighbor's home and sought help.

Olivier was booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on numerous counts of kidnapping, domestic violence, aggravated assault, criminal damage and resisting arrest.
