TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The new Tucson-area Ritz-Carlton has a Southwestern feel from its color scheme to its views of the saguaro-studded Tortolita Mountains.
Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain resort and spa general manager Allen Federer calls the hotel elegant but relaxed.
The lobby has a mountain view. Abstract paintings, with maroon, purple and burnt-orange accents, hang above leather chairs and wood decor.
The hotel was designed with flagstone and quartzite floors and minerals such as geodes and quartz crystal to highlight Arizona's geology.
Federer says the cost for a night's stay in the 250-room resort in Marana will vary.
Currently, it ranges from $289 a night up to $2,000 for a full casita with several bathrooms.
