SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) — A Cochise County man trying to be a good samaritan was repaid by being tied up and robbed by two brothers who are illegal immigrants.
The Sheriff's Office said 27-year-old Gilberto Quiroz-Moreno and 35-year-old Fernando Quiroz-Moreno are charged with a number of crimes including armed robbery, aggravated assault and motor vehicle theft.
Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carol Capas said the incident occurred last Friday southwest of Willcox.
The 71-year-old male victim told deputies he gave the brothers food and allowed them to make a number of calls to Mexico and Douglas in order to find a ride.
He said the brothers later threatened him with a knife, duct taped him, stole his car, a gun and some money.
State police later located the vehicle and the brothers were taken into custody.
