PHOENIX (AP) — Spring Break is the busiest time of year at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and officials are giving travelers tips to avoid delays.

Airport officials say spring training and school breaks are to thank for the heavy travel, and say spring is even busier than Thanksgiving and Christmas.

On many days, an estimated 110,000 passengers will travel through Sky Harbor. That's about 25 percent more than a typical day of 90,000 travelers.

Travel tips include checking flight status before arriving at the airport, getting to Sky Harbor two hours before a flight, having identification ready at the baggage check and wearing shoes that are easy to remove.

Airport officials also recommend calling 602-273-4545 for updated information on parking lot and garage availability.
