KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) -- An Arizona man is heading to prison for the holdup of a bank in northeastern Kansas.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 34-year-old Frank Landavazo of Kingman pleaded guilty to robbing a Bank of the West branch in Lenexa last Dec. 29. He was sentenced Monday to 14 years in federal prison.
Landavazo admitted warning a teller he had a bomb and demanding money. He left the bank after the teller handed him the money in her drawer.
Police received a tip identifying Landavazo after releasing surveillance photos from the bank.
He was arrested in a hotel room in the central Kansas town of Lyons.
