A memorial has gone up to the three people killed Wednesday when a medical helicopter crashed on Park Avenue near Glenn.

Federal crash investigators now have the case, looking to determine why the craft went down.

"We're deeply saddened by this tragic event," said Craig Yale.

61-year-old pilot Alex Kelley, 28-year-old paramedic Brenda French, and 41-year-old flight nurse Parker Summons all died in Wednesday's mid town helicopter crash.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families," said Yale.

Friends of the crew showed up to pay their respects at the scene and shared more about each crew member. Brenda French had been with LifeNet for only 4 months, Parker summons was a proud father of a 2-year-old, And they called Alex Kelley one of the best pilots they had ever seen.

While more information about the victims of Wednesday's crash has been released, what happened before it went down remains a mystery.

"Any supposition as far as what might be a cause, I'm not going to be able to talk to," Craig Yale is with Air Methods, the parent company of LifeNet.

He says the helicopter was state of the art and equipped with the latest aviation technology and the company had just completed routine maintenance on the helicopter at their Marana base.

We have a very robust safety program within Air Methods.

We have not heard that there was an communication suggesting any problems at this point.

But something did go wrong. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will sift through what's left of LifeNet 12 trying to figure that out.

Life net is at stand down right now in Arizona. They have grounded all flights for the time being.

The wreckage was removed from Park Avenue late Thursday and that part of Park that had been closed is once again open to traffic.
