A 50-year old woman and her 52-year old husband face child abuse charges for allegedly mistreating one of their grandsons. Becky Tortellet and Larry Tortellet were arrested by Pima County Sheriff’s Deputies on Saturday, August 30, and booked into the Pima County Jail.

According to an investigation by Child Protective Services (CPS), Becky Tortellet had been caring for her two grandsons, ages nine and eight years old, since birth. The eight-year-old boy appears normal and attends school, but investigators say the nine-year old does not attend school, weighs only 48 pounds, and was sleeping in his grandmother’s closet in her home in the 6700 block of South Iberia Avenue.
