Two injured in shootout
09:51 PM MST on Sunday, October 12, 2008
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate a shootout that happened early on Sunday morning, October 12. Deputies were called to a home on West Avenida Cresta just before 3 a.m. and say the shooting happened after a group of people showed up to a party uninvited. When they were asked to leave, Deputies say at least one person pulled out a gun and started firing.
“We heard just a bunch of gunfire, seems like about 30 shots, rapid, all at once, and as soon as it calmed down I looked outside and just saw 3 or 4 cars take off,” said neighbor Kyle Akin.
Two men were taken to UMC with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
