BUCKEYE, Ariz. (AP) — A corrections official says a fight broke out among more than 100 inmates at the Lewis prison complex west of Phoenix today. Three inmates and a corrections officer were injured and the prison was placed on lockdown. One of the inmates was taken to a hospital.

PHOENIX (AP) — A Yuma Customs and Border Protection officer and his wife are going to prison for just over three years for dealing the drug "ecstasy." Prosecutors say 41-year-old Henry M. Gauani and 46-year-old Flora A. Gauani were also fined $8,000 and ordered to perform community service.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The former superintendent of the Tanque Verde School District in southern Arizona has pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct charges involving children. Tom Rogers resigned in June after he was arrested on charges he arranged to have sex with teenagers in Mexico.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — The U.S. Forest Service says it's delaying permits needed for the Arizona Snowbowl ski resort to install snowmaking equipment. American Indian tribes have argued that artificial snow would desecrate the mountain they hold sacred.
