ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A man convicted in the Albuquerque torture killing of a Rio Rancho high school wrestler two years ago has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. Elias Urioste killed 19-year-old Vincent Espinoza, whose body was discovered burned several weeks after his family reported him missing.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police want help finding a man suspected of at least $30,000 in identity theft. Police say the man uses fake New Mexico driver's licenses to cash fraudulent checks at various businesses throughout the area.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico's jobless rate rose to 7.9 percent in October, up slightly from the previous month. The state's labor department, the Department of Workforce Solutions, says the state lost 27,800 jobs between October 2008 and October 2009.

BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (AP) — Nearly half of about 300 San Juan County employees who attended a potluck last week became sick later that day. Poorly prepared turkeys is the suspected cause. There were no reports of anyone visiting a doctor or hospital.
