PORTALES, N.M. (AP) — A Portales man is charged with 240 counts of sexual exploitation of children after investigators found child pornography on a computer in his home. Roosevelt County deputies say 22-year-old Parviz Marcus McKeand was arrested Sunday after a search of his home uncovered computer equipment containing more than 100 images and videos of child pornography.

CARNUEL, N.M. (AP) — Two people are dead after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 near Carnuel. Bernalillo County Sheriff's deputies say an eastbound vehicle entered the westbound lanes, causing the collision. He says a two-year-old child in one of the cars was taken to an Albuquerque hospital.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Gasoline prices in New Mexico are averaging $2.66 for a gallon of unleaded.Triple-A New Mexico said drivers in Santa Fe are paying the highest gas prices in the state with an average pump price of $2.65 a gallon while Albuquerque motorists are paying the least for gas with regular unleaded averaging $2.59 a gallon.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The New Mexico Land Office says over 10,000 acres of newly acquired state trust land has been designated to boost income for Carrie Tingley Children's Hospital in Albuquerque. The hospital was founded in 1937 by former first lady Carrie Tingley to care for children suffering from polio in what is now Truth or Consequences. The hospital relocated to Albuquerque in 1981.
