FBC--T25-ARIZONA-ARIZONA ST

TUCSON, Ariz. — Mike Stoops will never forget his first Territorial Cup game. Stoops' 2-8 Wildcats stunned No. 18 Arizona State 34-27 in 2004 in Tucson, and the victory served as a milepost for a program trying to escape the shadow of the John Mackovic era. Five years later, the roles are seemingly reversed. By College Football Writer Andrew Bagnato.

BKC--LSU-ARIZONA ST.

NEW YORK — Herb Sendek always prides himself on teams that play defense. His squads at North Carolina State were consistently among the best in the nation, and that hasn't changed since taking over at Arizona State just over three years ago. The Sun Devils used his suffocating zone, and a career-high 24 points from Derek Glasser, to beat LSU 71-52 on Friday in the consolation game of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

HKN--STARS-COYOTES

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Lauri Korpikoski scored his first two goals of the season and the Phoenix Coyotes beat the Dallas Stars 5-2 on Friday night. "You lose so much confidence when you're not scoring," said Korpikoski, who failed to earn a point in his first 16 games since coming to the Coyotes from the New York Rangers in the offseason. "It's a different game when you get the first one, everything slows down for you and you start to make plays with confidence again."

BKN--SUNS-TIMBERWOLVES

MINNEAPOLIS — Losing has become a way of life for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Wolves lost their 15th consecutive game on Friday night when Jason Richardson scored 22 points to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 120-95 victory. By Jon Krawczynski.

Also note:

— CARDINALS-WARNER — Kurt Warner went through another full practice on Friday, but the Arizona quarterback was listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Tennessee.

— FBN-TITANS-GAGE — Justin Gage did some running on the side Friday, though the Tennessee Titans wide receiver still has not practiced since a Nov. 8 back injury against San Francisco.

— COYOTES MOVES — The Phoenix Coyotes recalled forward Mikkel Boedker from their minor league affiliate on Friday.
