BELEN, N.M. (AP) — Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed the campaign bus of Republican gubernatorial candidate Allen Weh as it was parked in a gated lot in Belen. The fire late Friday destroyed the bus and campaign materials inside valued at about $250,000. A campaign spokesman says it hasn't been determined whether the bus will be replaced.

FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) — Farmington city officials are considering limits on door-to-door sales. One proposal would require door-to-door solicitors to leave immediately when owners or occupants ask them to do so. Another proposal would allow door-to-door residential sales only between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

LAS VEGAS, N.M. (AP) — As the weather gets colder, a Las Vegas church is opening its doors to the homeless. The First Baptist Church will provide the shelter through Dec. 21. The Las Vegas group Samaritan House says it's seeking help from other churches because construction of a permanent shelter has been delayed.

GALLUP, N.M. (AP) — McKinley Sheriff's deputies say a blown tire apparently caused a rollover on Interstate 40 that killed an Arizona man. Investigators say 53-year-old Leo B. Yazzie of Sacaton was driving a pickup truck Saturday afternoon when the right rear tire blew out and caused the vehicle to roll and then flip over.
