His departure comes two years after he led the Jayhawks to the most successful season in school history and after Kansas finished 5-and-7 this season.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State's Bobby Bowden said on his weekly call-in television show today that he wanted to return for another season before announcing his retirement Tuesday. The 80-year-old Bowden said he was thankful for his long coaching career, highlighted by working with young men and meeting many families over nearly six decades on the sidelines.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Rangers catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia (sahl-tah-lah-MAH'-kee-ah) will return to Texas to have his surgically repaired right shoulder examined after experiencing discomfort in a winter league game. Saltalamacchia had surgery in September and was playing in the Dominican Republic when he started having symptoms similar to the ones he experienced before the surgery.
NEW YORK (AP) — Disgraced ex-NBA referee Tim Donaghy (DAH'-nah-gee) tells CBS's "60 Minutes" in an interview to be aired Sunday night the mob threatened his family to ensure he provided his insider picks to inform betting on games. Donaghy says he bet on games based on his knowledge of other officials' biases for and against certain players and teams. Donaghy says he was winning 75 percent of the time, which drew the attention of the mob.
