SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The Boston Celtics won their sixth straight NBA game with a 90-83 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday.

Kevin Garnett scored 20 points and Ray Allen added 15 as the Celtics improved to an NBA-best 8-1 away from home and moved back into a share of the Eastern Conference lead with Orlando.

San Antonio also had won five in a row coming in, but the Celtics ran away with what Spurs coach Gregg Popovich acknowledged was a litmus test. Of the nine teams San Antonio has beaten this season, only four had winning records.

Spurs rookie DeJuan Blair had a career-high 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Nuggets 114, Heat 96

In Denver, Carmelo Anthony scored 22 points to help Denver rout Miami.

The defeat meant Heat star Dwyane Wade's woeful record in Denver was extended to 0-6 in his seven NBA seasons.

Wade, who snapped an 0-11 skid at Indiana this season, had 25 points.

Rockets 111, Warriors 109

In Oakland, California, Aaron Brooks hit two free throws with 2 seconds left as Houston edged Golden State.

Brooks finished with 25 points to lead seven Houston players in double figures.

Monta Ellis had 24 points, eight assists and six rebounds for Golden State, who welcomed back coach Don Nelson after he missed five games because of pneumonia.
