SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources secretary Joanna Prukop says she will retire at the end of the month to join a conservation group. Gov. Bill Richardson says Environment Department deputy secretary Jon Goldstein will replace Prukop, who will join a wildlife group called Freedom to Roam.

SILVER CITY, N.M. (AP) — Grant County Sheriff's deputies are continuing to search for a second suspect in a Nov. 24 home invasion near Silver City. One suspect surrendered last week. A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of 24-year-old Santiago "Jimmy" Aveles.

DENVER (AP) — A major rural electric provider says it would allow more state input into its planning while maintaining its independence. Colorado-based Tri-State Generation and Transmission Co. and an environmental group have submitted a proposal to the Colorado Public Utilities Commission that would allow more input by the public and regulators.

FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) — A federal jury says a Flora Vista stripper's constitutional rights were violated during a police search. Jill Dusenbery and others claimed that state police forced them to stand, kneel or lie down in scant garments while being searched by police executing a search warrant at the Phoenix Nighclub in 2006.
