CAMPBELLTON, Texas (AP) — Authorities are trying to figure out what caused a Mexico-bound bus to crash in Texas, killing two people and injuring 40.
Public Safety spokesman Tom Vinger says investigators suspect equipment failure may have caused the crash, though officials said the tires appeared intact.
The bus was headed from San Antonio to the Mexican border city of Matamoros when it veered off the highway, flipped and landed on its right side.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Jason Reyes says there was no initial indication that the driver was impaired. She had a valid license to drive the bus and has not been charged.
