The Chandler Unified School District will begin randomly testing students for drugs Tuesday.
All students in extracurricular activities, including drama, music and speech will be tested for a variety of drugs and alcohol including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, Ecstasy and anabolic steroids.
A student’s first positive test will result in an eight-week loss of eligibility. A second positive test will make them ineligible for the rest of the school year.
And they’ll be permanently banned if a third test comes up positive.
