After nearly four hours of debate, the Scottsdale City Council passed an ordinance restricting what employees of local strip clubs can do.

The new rules not only limit the amount of skin the dancers can show, they also mandate a minimum distance of four feet between dancers and patrons. The rules also institute a hands-off policy the will be enforced.

An additional proposal to ban alcohol was also on the table, but the council rejected it.

More than 200 people attended last night's meeting, many of them speaking out against the new rules.

Adult film star and local club owner Jenna Jameson said she would fight the ordinance.

Jameson, who bought Babe's Cabaret in Scottsdale last August, believes the strip clubs, including her own, are being unfairly targeted.

"They've singled me out and I think that's extremely sad, extremely sad," she said.

Those who support the new restrictions say the new rules will help bring different types of businesses to the area.

Club owners call the rules unfair, and say they'll take the city to court.
