SPOKANE -- A former Spokane youth pastor has been found guilty of 8 sex felonies involving sexual misconduct with multiple teenagers.

A Spokane jury found James Ritter was guilty on 6 counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.

The judge told the courtroom Ritter's actions were "clearly a pattern of a predator grooming his victims."

Prosecutors said Ritter began using a web cam to connect with girls in his youth group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Spokane.

He used the camera to expose himself, asked the girls to do the same, and also engaged in a sexual relationship with one minor.

The parent of one of Ritter's victims told KREM 2 News, "It's a sad day when you can't drop the kids off at church and know they aren't going to be harmed."
