Vocal music students from Southern Arizona are invited to attend an all-day workshop.
The Second Annual Youth in Harmony Festival will take place on September 8 where youth can learn various singing techniques from Connie Keil, a certified music clinician, and Charla Esser, from Sweet Adelines International.
The event will feature direction and performances of a cappella and four-part harmony.
The workshop will also include three local competitive quartets, “Sonoran Sound,” “Eastsiders,” and “Havin’ A Blast,” who will teach participants five songs.
The event will conclude with a 6 p.m. evening show that will be free and open to the public. Students will perform the music they learned throughout the day while the teaching quartets are also scheduled to perform.
Registration fee will be $10 for musicians high-school aged and older.
The workshop runs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will take place in the Rincon/University High School auditorium, located at 421 N. Arcadia.
