08:13 PM MST on Monday, October 1, 2007

The Associated Press

PARKER, Ariz. (AP) -- State Representative Trish Groe has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from her March arrest for drunken driving.

The Lake Havasu City Republican faces one felony count of aggravated DUI and one misdemeanor count of false reporting to a police officer.

The Today's News Herald, the newspaper in Lake Havasu City, reported on its Web site that Groe declined comment after her hearing Monday.

Groe was arrested in La Paz County on suspicion of drunken driving, and lab tests later found her blood-alcohol level was just below .15, nearly twice the legal limit.

A pretrial conference has been scheduled for Oct. 19.

If convicted of a felony, Groe would be forced to resign from office.
