Police look for two suspects in kidnapping case
08:29 PM MST on Monday, December 3, 2007
A Tucson woman kidnapped last week has been released in Mexico and tonight Tucson Police are looking for two suspects.
Twenty-six-year-old Sarai Borquez was accosted along with her boyfriend last Monday.
The boyfriend escaped the next day and alerted authorities.
Borquez is safe tonight and back in Tucson with her family after what must have been a scary week.
It started a week ago tonight when she and her boyfriend were leaving a home on the south side.
Both were kidnapped and their cars stolen. One vehicle was found in Douglas over the weekend and, a few days later, Borquez was released south of Nogales, Sonora.
Through their investigation, police have identified two suspects: Primitivo Valenzuela, 22, is described as 5’6” to 5’8” and about 140 pounds and 27-year-old Claudia Bustamante Gamez, whom police say is 5’7” and weighs about 150 pounds.
“The original kidnapping victim did suffer serious injuries that did require hospitalization,” Tucson Police Department Dallas Wilson explains. “Both of these suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.”
The suspects were last seen driving a 2002 Buick four-door sedan with Arizona license plate: 621-YTY.
If you know where these individuals are, or have seen the vehicle, call 911 or 88-CRIME.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and have not revealed the relationship between the kidnappers and the victims.
