Silverbell Road in Marana to be closed
08:46 PM MST on Wednesday, April 23, 2008
A major road in a northwest Tucson suburb will soon be closed for reconstruction. Much of Silverbell Road between Ina and Cortaro will be shut down for six months beginning May 1st.
The town of Marana will make the road five lanes wide, put in new sewer and water lines, and install a traffic signal at the intersection of Silverbell and Ina. Silverbell will remain open south of Cortaro to Brad Street, but drivers should expect delays. The project should be completed by November.
