Checkpoint nets 15 DUI arrests

Tucson Police made 15 DUI arrests during a six-hour-long sobriety checkpoint on Friday, April 25 at the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Mountain View. Four people were charged with extreme DUI, one was booked on a felony charge of extreme DUI, two people under the age of 21 were arrested and three people were cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
The checkpoint was set up as part of the national “Drunk Driving – Over The Limit – Under Arrest” campaign. A total of 17 police officers were utilized and contact was made with 1,084 drivers.
