Downtown outdoor film series is back

Another season of classic films shown outdoors is underway at La Placita Village. Cinema La Placita is now called “The Loft at Cinema La Placita” and will present movies every Thursday evening at 7:30 from May through October.
Admission is free, although a $3 to $5 per person donation is greatly appreciated, with contributions going directly to the programming of the film series. La Placita Village is located at the southwest corner of Broadway and Church in downtown Tucson, with parking in the La Placita Parking Garage on Stone south of Broadway.
Here is the schedule of films for the month of May:
May 1 – Duck Soup (1933), starring the Marx Brothers at 7:30, followed by Wild Hogs (2007) starring John Travolta, William H. Macy and Tim Allen at 9:00.
May 8 – Bringing Up Baby (1938), starring Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn.
May 15 – The Omega Man (1971), starring Charlton Heston.
May 22 – The Odd Couple (1968), starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.
May 29 – Elmer Gantry (1960), starring Burt Lancaster and Jean Simmons.
