National Women Build Week marked in Tucson
11:00 PM MST on Sunday, May 4, 2008
Habitat for Humanity Tucson will celebrate National Women Build Week May 4-10 by raising the walls of its eighth Women Build Home on Saturday, May 10.
“Developed through a partnership with Lowe’s, National Women Build Week celebrates the compassion, dedication, talents and abilities of women from all walks of life,” said Habitat Board President Angela Baurley.
The walls will rise on a three bedroom, two bath home in the Corazon Del Pueblo development near I-10 and Craycroft. The house is expected to be completed in December, at which time Desiree Sagasta and her two young children will move in.
“I’m looking forward to being able to personally thank the volunteers and donors who are helping to make my dream come true,” said Sagasta. She plans to be on hand to help get the building of her home started along with the volunteers.
If you would like to volunteer to help, more information is available at www.habitattucson.org.
