Red Cross taking donations for disaster relief
08:44 PM MST on Monday, May 12, 2008
The American Red Cross Southern Arizona Chapter is asking for the public’s help in providing assistance to those who have been the victims of natural disasters this month, both in the United States and abroad. The Myanmar cyclone, the earthquake in China and tornadoes in the central U.S. have taken a toll on Red Cross resources.
Donations of money to be used for relief efforts can be made online at www.redcrossarizona.org or can be mailed to P.O. Box 28890, Tucson, AZ 85726. Please designate if you would like your donation to go toward international relief, the Midwest tornadoes or to local disaster relief.
The Red Cross is not accepting donations of products and goods, instead purchasing items in the communities hit by the disasters to help reinvest in the economy there.
