Arizona football player charged with sexual assault
09:38 PM MST on Monday, May 19, 2008
A 23-year old University of Arizona football player has been indicted on one count of sexual assault for an incident in early April. Pima County Sheriff’s Deputies say that a woman told them that she was attacked by Johnathan Turner on April 2.
The victim said she and some friends were drinking at a residence on North Green Gulch Court when she passed out, and later woke up to find Turner assaulting her.
Turner was suspended for the Arizona football team on April 5 for unspecified reasons. As the legal system takes it’s course, Turner will remain on scholarship but he cannot practice or workout with the team.
