A 54-year old man was killed and his wife was critically injured in a motorcycle crash near Arivaca on Saturday, May 31. Thomas Lerner died when his cycle left Arivaca Sasabe Road and crashed into some rocks at around 2 p.m.

Pima County Sheriff’s Deputies say neither Lerner or his wife were wearing their helmets when the crash happened. Lerner’s wife was airlifted to UMC and her condition is not known. Investigators say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident. Lerner was a retired lieutenant from the Elkhart, Indiana Police Department.
