Early Wednesday morning the Tohono O’odham Police Department (TOPD) and agents from the Ajo Border Patrol Station responded to an anonymous tip regarding possible drug trafficking activity in the area, and located one bundle of marijuana in an abandoned house. An agent then followed footprints to a second abandoned house where 77 additional bundles of marijuana were discovered.
The marijuana has an estimated value of just under $1,400,000. A white Jeep Cherokee parked at the second house was found to have been stolen in Phoenix, and it was turned over to the TOPD.
