08:00 PM MST on Tuesday, June 10, 2008
The Arthritis Foundation Greater Southwest Chapter is offering a free seminar to educate the public about Fibromyalgia on Thursday, June 26, at University Medical Center. Dr. Heather Tick from the Southwest Integrative Pain Institute will discuss the latest news and research updates regarding the debilitating condition.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and multiple tender points. There are many theories about what causes or triggers the disease, but the specific cause of fibromyalgia is still unknown and there is no lab test to diagnose it.
Following Dr. Tick’s presentation, questions will be taken from the audience. The event will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at UMC which is located at 1501 North Campbell. More information is available by clicking here and typing in the keyword: Fibromyalgia.
