Trio indicted on animal cruelty charges

Indictments have been handed down against three people accused of animal cruelty after 851 dogs and 36 birds were found living in inhumane conditions in March. All of the animals were turned over to the Humane Society after they were discovered at a property in the 12,000 block of West Manville Road on March 10.

The three people charged in the case are 67-year old Billy Jones, 64-year old Wanda Jones, and 44-year old Robert Jones. They each face 37 counts of cruel mistreatment of an animal, 3 counts of cruelty to animals, and 1 count of fraudulent scheme or practice, all felonies.
