08:15 PM MST on Wednesday, August 6, 2008
A Sierra Vista woman suffered burns when her house caught on fire on Wednesday, August 6. When firefighters arrived at the home in the 2600 block of Raven Drive shortly after noon, they found Leela Curtiss lying on the back porch of the home. She was airlifted to the Maricopa Medical Center’s burn unit in Phoenix for treatment. The severity of her burns is unknown.
Police had been called to the same house in March in response to a domestic violence call where Leela Curtiss had allegedly been hit in the head with a hammer by her husband, Kieran Curtiss. That case is still pending at the Cochise County Attorney’s Office.
